Purchased one as a test, and I’m very impressed. It paired with Hubitat very easily and so far seems to be running reliably with my rules to automatically open/close. While the styles are limited, it’s slightly cheaper than other brands and I have it mounted inside my window so I can dress up/down the window with curtains and not impact the ability to open or close the blinds for light or privacy. I love that there is a built-in button to control the blinds without needing to keep up with an extra remote. I can trigger them with existing buttons, dashboards, and rules in Hubitat but it’s nice to have a local/manual control option sometimes.
The price on Amazon is thankfully a little cheaper than their website, which is strange since it’s usually the other way around. If I had seen the prices on their website I probably would not have considered purchasing them, but the price on Amazon caught my attention. Unfortunately, their sizes are very limited on Amazon so I went with one that would fit on the inside of my window but barely covers the glass. It’s enough for privacy but I would have liked the option to do an inch or two wider, but the only option above the one I chose was 5 inches wider which would not work!
This technology has been around a while and I’m excited to see prices slowly becoming slightly more affordable. Unfortunately, other companies are compensating for this by requiring options and upgrades to customize the look., putting your final price much higher and very disappointing.
These are plain and that’s perfectly fine for me, I don’ t need fancy valances or extra remote controls, etc. I just need these to come down in price some more before I can afford to add them to all my windows!
